The Believer’s Three-Fold Judgment

Heb. 9:27

FIVE BIBLE JUDGMENTS

1. JUDGMENT OF SIN. (CALVARY)

   2 Cor. 5:21

   For he hath made him {to be} sin for us, who knew no sin;

that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

   Gal. 3:13

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being

made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed {is} every

one that hangeth on a tree:

2. JUDGMENT OF SELF. (DAILY)

   1 Cor. 11:31-32

For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that

we should not be condemned with the world.

3. JUDGMENT OF SAINTS. (AT RAPTURE)

   2 Cor. 5:10

   For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ;

   that every one may receive the things {done} in {his}

body, according to that he hath done, whether {it be} good

   or bad.(WORTHLESS)

   Rom. 14:10

But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set

at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the

   judgment seat of Christ.

4. JUDGMENT OF SINNERS. (GREAT WHITE THRONE)

   Rev. 20:11

And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it,

from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and

there was found no place for them.  And I saw the dead,

small and great, stand before God; and the books were

   opened: and another book was opened, which is {the book}

of life: and the dead were judged out of those things

which were written in the books, according to their works.

5. JUDGMENT OF NATIONS.  (SHEEP & GOATS)

   Mt. 25:31

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the

holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of

his glory:And before him shall be gathered all nations:

and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd

divideth {his} sheep from the goats.

*The first 3 apply to us!*

THE PRESENT BELIEVER’S JUDGMENT IS THREEFOLD.

     1. Past Judgment as a Sinner.

     2. Present Judgment as a Son.

     3. Future Judgment as a Servant.

I. OUR PAST JUDGMENT AS A SINNER.

Isaiah 53:6" the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."

2 Cor. 5:21" For he hath made him <to be> sin for us, who knew no

sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."

1 Peter 2:24 "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the

          tree."

RICH MAN IN HELL VS: CHRIST ON THE CROSS:

[Jesus took our hell for us!]

1  Agony of Separation      - Christ Separated from Father

     2. Agony of Thirst              - Christ said " I Thirst"

     3. Agony of Darkness        - Christ had 3 hours of dark.

     4. Agony of Eternity          - "It is finished"(Suffered all)

II. OUR PRESENT JUDGMENT AS A SON.

1 Cor. 11:31 " For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be

                  judged.  "

1 Cor. 11:32 " But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord,

that we should not be condemned with the world."

1 Cor. 11:28 " But let a man examine himself.

We are not to sin, but if we do sin, we have an advocate

1 John 2:1-2 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye

sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the

Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:  And he is the

propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also

for <the sins of> the whole world.

1 John 1:8-9 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the

truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, he is

faithful and just to forgive us <our> sins, and to cleanse

           us from all unrighteousness.

FOUR THINGS PEOPLE DO ABOUT THEIR SINS

     1. CAST BLAME.

Adam blamed Eve, then blamed God.

"It was the WOMAN, THOU gavest me."

Saul blamed the people when the sheep bleated" [1 Sam. 15]

     2. COVER THEM. Prov. 28:13 "He that covereth his sin, shall not prosper."

     3. CONFESS THEM.  1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is

faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us

        from all unrighteousness."

"Forgiveness mean "to Bear the burden." The man who forgives you

a $1,000.00 debt must carry the burden of that $ 1,000.

     4. BE CHASTENED. " Hebrews 12:5-11 And ye have

forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto

children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord,

nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: {6} For whom the Lord

loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he

receiveth.  {7} If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you

as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth

not?  {8} But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are

partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. {9} Furthermore

we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected <us>, and we

gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection

unto the Father of spirits, and live?  {10} For they verily for

a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for

        <our> profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.  {11}

Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but

grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable

fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby."

THREE THINGS GOD CAN DO ABOUT OUR SINS

     1. Make us pay for them in Hell. (Contradicts Bible)

     2. Ingore them.

     3. Chasten us in this life.

WHAT IS CHASTENING?

"Child Training"

It is not payment/punishment.[ If a child breaks a window, paddling does not fix or pay for the window.]

HOW IS THE CHRISTIAN CHASTENED?

     1. Sometime the LOSS OF HEALTH. (not all sickness is chastening.)

Blind man, "Neither did this man or his parents sin, but that

        the Lord might be glorified."

1 Corinthians 11:30 For this cause many <are> weak and sickly

        among you, and many sleep.

     2. Sometimes the LOSS OF PROPERTY.  Amos 4  I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and

your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm

devoured <them>: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the

        LORD."

     3. Sometimes the LOSS OF JOY. Psalms 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me <with thy> free spirit.

     4. Sometimes the LOSS OF LOVED ONES. 2 Samuel 12:14 Howbeit,

because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the

enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also <that is> born

        unto thee shall surely die.

     5. Sometimes the PREMATURE DEATH OF BELIEVERS.

1 Corinthians 11:30 For this cause many <are> weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

1 John 5:16 There is a sin unto death: I do not

say that he shall pray for it.

1 Corinthians 5:5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the

destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the

        day of the Lord Jesus.

WHAT ARE THE RESULTS OF CHASTENING?

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate <to be> conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Hebrews 12:10 For they verily for a few days chastened <us>

after their own pleasure; but he for <our> profit, that <we>

might be partakers of his holiness.

Hebrews 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be

joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

III. THE BELIEVER'S FUTURE JUDGMENT AS A SERVANT.

     1 Corinthians 3:11-15  [works/motive]

Moody: "I would not work my soul to save, For this my Lord hath done;

But I would work like any slave, For love of His dear Son.”

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto

good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of

Christ; that every one may receive the things <done> in <his>

body, according to that he hath done, whether <it be> good or bad.

"We" found 26 times in Chapt. 5 = "believers every time"

THERE ARE FIVE CROWNS TO BE GIVE AT THE JUDGMENT SEAT.
